CN employee dies in work accident

Posted on 3/17/2014 by Richard Deschamps, CJAD News

A 34-year-old CN rail worker was killed Sunday evening at the Taschereau Switching Yard in the city’s west end.
The man was crushed between two train cars at around 9 p.m. It appears he was at the controls of one of them and attempted to perform a reverse maneuver when the train went off the rails.
He was pronounced dead on the scene by paramedics.
The work accident took place on federal land, so the federal labour department will handle the investigation.
